Here’s another look back at one of my first attempts to combine my growing passion for photographing people and my passion for exploring abandoned places. I was out and about with Joey in 2017 in one of my favourite lost places in the Berlin area. It was also one of my first attempts at nude photography.
Somehow I passed by the area of sensual and superficially beautiful nude photography relatively quickly and then somehow ended up here. And even after all these years, I still feel comfortable in this area of photography. Especially in combination, in contrast with cold, decaying buildings, nude photography makes it possible to awaken so many thoughts and feelings, to tell stories.
Unfortunately, many abandoned places in and around Berlin no longer exist or are no longer accessible, so collaborations of this kind require much more time and planning. This is also one of the reasons why I am now spending much more time in the wild outdoors for collaborations, as this is usually much easier and spontaneously doable. But from time to time it is also possible to go on a tour to abandoned places.
