Since the first heatwave of the year is hitting Berlin these days, it’s time for some memories of a cooler day. I met up with Sandy again in April last year, this time near Berlin, and we drove to one of my favourite photo spots in the southern Berlin area. I photographed her in various settings and at the finale in the lake we photographed each other. The water was still very cold, but also very refreshing. Being photographed, especially undressed, is still pretty far out of my comfort zone, but at least it was a little easier compared to my first attempt with Sandy. And for these pictures and the experience, it was worth leaving my comfort zone again. So here is a selection of the pictures she took of me, the first one edited by me.
It’s important for me to get to know this side of the camera as well, on the one hand to grow as a human being and overcome my insecurities, and on the other hand to be able to empathise even better with people who might end up in front of my camera with the same thoughts and feelings. I have always had huge respect and empathy for the people in front of my camera. I have always been very grateful for all their trust and openness, this has only increased through these experiences in front of other cameras.
